Effective Home Hemorrhoids Treatment

Hemorrhoids are varicose veins that develop in the vicinity of the rectum. They are caused by the build up of pressure on blood vessels leading up to and around the anus, which in turn causes pain during bowel movements and in some cases even while you are sitting or walking around. Along with pain, hemorrhoids can also cause itching in the anus and even anal bleeding.

Hemorrhoids treatment can be easy, practical and healthy. Simple changes to diet; lifestyle and bowel habits can certainly help you in preventing the occurrence of hemorrhoids and its getting worse.

Establishing a healthy bowel habit may contribute to ultimately preventing hemorrhoids. A healthy bowel habit constitutes eating a diet high in fiber and drinking lots of water. Foods such as green leafy vegetables, fruits, whole-wheat grains and cereals help prevent constipation. Make sure that you rink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water and avoid alcoholic beverages and caffeine as these can cause dehydration.

Avoid foods that worsen the symptoms of hemorrhoids. This may include; nuts, spicy foods, coffee and alcohol.

For relief of pain and itching, try applying warm and cold compress interchangeably for five minutes. A hot sitz bath or sitting in warm water for fifteen minutes a day can definitely help relieve the pain and discomfort felt.
